You may or may not remember this one.  It’s a little comedy starring Robert Downey, Jr. and Zach Galifianakis about two guys who end up driving cross-country to make it to the birth of Downey’s first child.

Plot Summary

In this one, Peter Highman (Downey, Jr.) ends up being forced to ride cross-country with aspiring actor Ethan Tremblay (Galifianakis) just days before his wife is due to give birth to their first child.  As you can imagine, because it wouldn’t be much of a movie, chaos ensues.  And, where there’s chaos, there’s hilarity.

I thought this movie was hilarious.  As with just about anything coming out of Hollywood these days, there are parts of it that aren’t the best for all audiences, but that’s why it is rated R in the first place.  The way the characters play off of one another, and even the heart-warming moments are done very well.  Of course, this can’t be a road trip movie without some ridiculous things happening, and it always has to happen in droves.  I imagine if some of this stuff were to happen to one person, that person might go insane.

I thought it was entertaining.  If you need a good laugh, and aren’t afraid of some of the series stuff, go ahead and catch this one.  I imagine it will be coming out on DVD pretty soon (if it’s not already out).  Definitely worth the trip to Redbox, and you just may like it enough to buy it.

Best Part

Zach Galifianakis.  That dude is hilarious.  His character seems to say the most ridiculous thing at the most ridiculous time, and it somehow works.
