Jesus said there was a link between our hearts and our treasure.  Where our treasure is, there our hearts will be.  Likewise, where our heart is, there our treasure will be.  It’s a matter of inclination.  In what direction are our hearts inclined?

In the Psalm reading today, the writer says, “Incline my heart to your testimonies, and not to selfish gain!”  Where is our heart inclined?  Towards the Lord, or towards selfish gain?  It’s a question that we need to wrestle with in our lives.

What motivates us in life?  Are we motivated by what we can get out of things?  Are we motivated by how things will work out for us?  By what we get out of it?  Or do we have a better motivation?  Are our hearts inclined towards God?
